As a prospective member of Notre Dame Athletics, we invite you to apply if you have a shared purpose for our distinctly integrated student-athlete experience, an unrivaled passion for people who propel a dynamic and high performing organization, and a proven record of success in your field. Join a high-performance team dedicated to helping student-athletes reach their full athletic potential. The Strength & Conditioning Coach plays a critical role in the development, preparation, and long-term success of assigned Olympic Sport programs through the design and implementation of evidence-based, sport-specific training programs. Working under the direction of the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports, this coach will lead all aspects of physical preparation for assigned teams, developing programs that enhance strength, power, speed, endurance, movement quality, and overall athletic performance while reducing injury risk. The successful candidate will possess advanced expertise in strength, power, and speed development, with the ability to prescribe and progress training interventions that align with the goals of a comprehensive periodized training plan. This position is responsible for designing and executing annual training plans, identifying block training objectives, and selecting exercise prescriptions that drive measurable performance outcomes. A strong commitment to athlete monitoring and performance-health management is essential, as load management and athlete response tracking are integral components of the coaching process. Beyond program design and coaching, the Strength & Conditioning Coach serves as a key collaborator within Notre Dame’s performance ecosystem. Success in this role requires the ability to build strong working relationships with sport coaches, sports medicine staff, performance specialists, and administrators to create an integrated approach to athlete development. The ideal candidate is an energetic, detail-oriented leader who thrives in a fast-paced, team-centered environment and is passionate about maximizing athletic performance through exceptional coaching, communication, and service. Daily responsibilities also include maintaining a safe, organized, and professional training environment through ongoing weight room upkeep and equipment maintenance.
