About The Position

The Strength and Conditioning Specialist will provide prehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions in fighter aircrew. As such, the employee will evaluate and provide prehabilitative assessment and maintenance to fighter aircrew personnel to strengthen core musculoskeletal (MSK) system to enhance resistance to neck and back injury. The CSCS will also design and implement an overall MSK strengthening and health lifestyle education program addressing the overall health maintenance program to enhance injury resistance. The CSCS will perform initial evaluation, design individual training program, and establish records for all fighter aircrew personnel.

Requirements

  • Possess a Master’s degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, or physical education- related disciplines.
  • Possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience.
  • Possess and maintain a current certification by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
  • Possess current certification in basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to include Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
  • Must be able to pass a background check to be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CaC).

Nice To Haves

  • Sustained experience working with elite athlete populations.
  • Preferred experience includes, working with Special Operations Forces (SOF) specific performance programs and developing sport/mission specific performance programs resulting in attributable results with elite athletes (i.e. Division I collegiate, Olympic, professional level athletes or military combat professionals).
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations, professional code of ethics, AF guidance, DoD guidance, and practice standards in order to ensure adherence within legal and professional parameters.
  • Knowledge and skills in using quality and risk management programs to identify issues to improve practice and ensure compliance.
