About The Position

Kako'o Services LLC is seeking a qualified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to provide Human Performance Optimization (HPO) support at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. The specialist will work with tactical athletes and Airmen to enhance physical performance, improve fitness and readiness, reduce injury risk, and support safe return to training following injury. The position will focus on developing and implementing individualized and group strength and conditioning programs, conducting performance assessments, monitoring physical performance trends, and collaborating with medical and human performance personnel to support mission readiness.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, or a related discipline.
  • Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/BLS/AED certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of aggregate experience within the past five (5) years working with elite athlete populations.
  • Experience must include primary duties as a strength and conditioning coach, including responsibility for periodized programming and equipment procurement.
  • Experience working with elite athletes such as military special operations forces, professional athletes, Olympic athletes, or Division I collegiate athletes is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with tactical athletes and within a military human performance environment.
  • Ability to hike over rough terrain, function in austere environments, and lift/manipulate loads and plates up to 25 kilograms (approximately 55 pounds).
  • Must be physically proficient in demonstrating prescribed exercises and training techniques.
  • Strong communication, organization, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and communicate performance data and trends.
  • Must successfully complete required DoD, Air Force, installation, and position-specific training.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and administer effective strength and conditioning programs designed to maximize physical performance and tactical readiness.
  • Design individualized exercise programs to support safe and effective return to training following injury.
  • Develop and implement training programs focused on functional movement, strength, endurance, power, mobility, flexibility, speed, agility, and conditioning.
  • Design and monitor physical training programs for personnel who are temporarily deployed or on TDY when medically requested.
  • Conduct physical performance testing, including Occupational Specific Physical Fitness Assessments (OSPFA) and testing required for specialized training programs or schools.
  • Provide instruction and guidance on physical conditioning, fitness, performance optimization, and injury prevention.
  • Collaborate with human performance and medical personnel, including registered dietitians, when appropriate.
  • Identify personnel with apparent new or undiagnosed medical conditions and refer them for appropriate medical evaluation and treatment.
  • Maintain workload and performance records and document required encounters using designated government systems.
  • Assist with inventory of conditioning and rehabilitation supplies and provide recommendations regarding equipment and facility needs.
  • Ensure exercise equipment and facilities are properly organized, maintained, clean, and safe for use.
  • Assist with the development of facility standard operating procedures, exercise protocols, and guidelines for the safe use of strength and conditioning equipment.
  • Collect, analyze, and report performance information to identify trends, performance concerns, injury risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare periodic reports and provide recommendations to leadership regarding physical performance, readiness, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
  • Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with squadron leadership and human performance personnel.
  • Maintain a professional understanding of the unit's mission, operator physical requirements, training schedules, and deployment cycles.
  • Work on-site during normal duty hours and support occasional surge operations or authorized CONUS travel as required.
