About The Position

Charlotte Latin School invites applications for a dedicated Strength and Conditioning Coach to join our team in Summer 2026. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who view the gym as their home and exude a love of strength and conditioning, with an enthusiasm for working with student-athletes. The schedule for this full-time, 11-month position will vary between 6:30 am- 5:30 pm, aligned with school needs and seasonal athletics. This vital position is responsible for the physical development of our student-athletes, with the following key duties and responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop and continuously refine individualized and team-based workout programs, ensuring clear documentation, regular performance analysis, and data-driven adjustments to maximize student-athlete development Teach Strength and Conditioning within the Physical Education & Health curriculum Manage the Strength Center, including providing before-, during-, and after-school supervision as well as weekend coverage. Supervise the locker room before and after class periods to ensure student safety Oversee all equipment maintenance, including maintaining detailed inventory records and arranging professional servicing and repair as required Communicate effectively with the Athletic Director and PE Department Chair Work as a team with other teachers in the department and coaches, including sharing space & equipment Attend department and division meetings Perform other job-related duties as assigned Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Health, or a closely related field, required Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS Certification), required Experience as a Strength and Conditioning coach in a school environment, preferred Skills Strong administrative skills, including data entry, record keeping, and program management Proficient in Google Workspace Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and a willingness to post regularly Exceptional time management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Exhibit a commitment to wellness and working with the whole child Exhibit a love of working with children in this age group Commitment to safety and civility Strong desire to participate in the whole life of the school Flexibility in working with colleagues and students, and sharing classroom space Willing and able to resolve conflicts with colleagues, parents, and between students The ability to build a strong rapport with colleagues and serve as a collaborative team player A positive, upbeat coaching style A philosophical alignment with our core values and curriculum, which can be found on our website: www.charlottelatin.org , including a commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Working Conditions and Environment Intermittently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Continuously see, sit, balance, grasp, and have repetitive use of arms, wrists, hands, and fingers; and some fine finger dexterity. Frequently talk and hear. Intermittently stand, stoop, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, crawl, walk, climb stairs, step stools and ladders, operate foot and hand controls, squeeze, and reach above shoulders. Exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, flammables, grease, dirt, stacked materials, electrical equipment, machinery, low to medium noise levels, and moderate indoor temperatures of heat and cold. Long or odd hours, as needed. Individuals must also be able to safely operate a golf cart or similar vehicle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Health, or a closely related field, required
  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS Certification), required
  • Strong administrative skills, including data entry, record keeping, and program management
  • Proficient in Google Workspace
