About The Position

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Operations Manager to manage the Streets Division, Sign Shop, and Vehicle and Equipment Service Center. This role is crucial for ensuring City infrastructure, streets, signage, right-of-way areas, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to high standards and remain in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited four-year institution of higher learning with a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field. Direct full-time job-related professional experience of six (6) or more years may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in municipal public works management or closely related industry.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
  • Possession of a valid Class B CDL license or obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
  • A passing grade on the written portion of the Class A or B CDL exam is required before employment.
  • Willingness to work on the On-Call duty rotation, and emergency calls outside of normal work hours as scheduled, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to work snow routes that include twelve (12) hour shifts during the months of November through March.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, and physical agility assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing written communications or technical documentation.
  • Municipal inspection/observation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Streets Division operations, including pavement and right-of-way maintenance, mowing, snow and ice control, and drainage system maintenance.
  • Oversee Sign Shop operations, including the printing, construction, placement, and maintenance of road signs throughout the City.
  • Manage Vehicle and Equipment Service Center operations, ensuring City vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use.
  • Provide staff supervision, project coordination, process improvement, and respond to operational needs throughout the City.
