About The Position

Under the direction of the Program Manager of RHY, the street outreach worker will be responsible for locating and providing outreach services to youth experiencing unstable living conditions in Albany County and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• strong verbal skills to interact with youth and families in informal or non traditional settings including public and community spaces
• valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

• associates in human services preferred
• experience working with homelessness/child welfare systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Increase public awareness services by distributing promotional materials throughout the Capital District area and via social media.
• Engage young people using principles of Harm Reduction, Positive Youth Development, Trauma Informed Care and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to establish supportive relationships with professional boundaries.
• Transport youth to various appointments and activities using St. Anne Institute vehicles.
• Thoroughly and accurately document all information and data required for funding sources and oversite agencies.
