About The Position
The City of Peoria is looking for hard-working individuals to fill Street Maintenance Worker positions in their Street Maintenance Unit (Asphalt). This labor-intensive position will require someone who enjoys working outdoors and can meet the physical demands of the job. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working outdoors in the elements, working knowledge of basic construction practices, and a great attitude with the ability to work within a team structure and perform solo tasks as required.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalency
- 6 months’ experience
- Some previous experience required in the same or similar previous positions
- Valid Arizona Class “D” Driver’s License upon hire
Nice To Haves
- Passion for working outdoors in the elements
- Working knowledge of basic construction practices
- Great attitude and the ability to work within a team structure and perform solo tasks as required
Responsibilities
- Perform general street maintenance tasks such as placing hot asphalt for repair
- Filling potholes
- Removing obstructions and debris from roadways
- Providing traffic control
- Attending trainings
- Sharing unique talents in all tasks listed and all others as assigned
