About The Position

This position provides general landscape maintenance within city limits, including trimming trees, cutting grass, and working on city events or projects. The worker operates a range of machinery and works alongside other crews to assist with projects. The position reports to the Street Maintenance Crew Leader.

Successful applicants must have a valid driver's license and pass a criminal background check, including a driving-record check, a drug screen, and a pre-employment physical.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a job-related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pass a criminal background check, including a driving-record check, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Operate small trucks to haul dirt, debris, rock, solid waste, and landfill material.
• Operate non-CDL trucks, including 30-inch bucket trucks and flatbed trucks.
• Mow rights-of-way and medians.
• Trim and remove trees and bushes.
• Place traffic cones and use traffic signs and flags to perform traffic control in accordance with the MUTCD manual, wearing the proper safety vest and PPE as needed.
• Operate machinery such as bucket trucks, backhoes, loaders, small tractors, boom mowers, bush hogs, front-mount mowers, zero-turn mowers, chainsaws, pole saws, weed eaters, skid steers, and forklifts.
• Work alongside other crews to assist with projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
