Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
Related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
No experience required.
Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.
Applicants will be subject to a complete background investigation.
Incomplete, inaccurate and/or failure to report information will cause the applicant rejection from consideration.

Nice To Haves

Excellent knowledge of street signs and pavement markings.

Responsibilities

Assisting in cleaning, repairing, and painting curb markings in the downtown area.
Trimming branches on city's right-of-way.
Removing fallen trees and large debris from roadways.
Assisting in the setup of traffic control for special events.
Performing as a flagman in construction zones as required.
Assisting in storm cleanup, including cleaning storm inlets.
Providing assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.
Assisting in the setup of traffic control for special events, emergencies, and weather response.
