STREET MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - Range 7 / ENG
About The Position
Under supervision, performs manual work of an unskilled and routine nature for the Municipality of Anchorage's Maintenance and Operations Street Maintenance Department. The work involves moderate to heavy physical exertion in clearing and removing litter, debris, snow, and ice. The position also performs cleanup and minor, unskilled maintenance of structures, equipment, and grounds. This position is represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers (Local 302) and is subject to the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the Union. The department is Maintenance & Operations, and the work location is 5701 Northwood Drive. Hours are Monday through Sunday, vary, and may include nights.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have the physical capability to perform the described work.
- Must possess or obtain a valid State of Alaska Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record at the time of hire.
- Must pass a satisfactory background check, including criminal, education, and employment history, at the time of hire.
- Must be legally authorized to work and accept employment in the United States.
