About The Position

Kleinfelder's Environmental team is seeking an experienced Stream and Wetland Delineator to join our Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Team in Bridgeport, WV. This position provides a great career-growth opportunity for an organized and energetic leader who can effectively collaborate with operational and business development leadership in our Eastern Division to execute our shared growth strategy. The ideal candidate should demonstrate self-starter qualities, willingness to conduct field work in difficult terrain, independent thinking skills, the ability to self-start and work independently when needed, effective communication skills, independent task management, excellent teamwork and leadership skills, and be adept at technical writing and field data management. The role requires the ability to effectively engage directly with staff and leadership. Familiarity with Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) with specific state level experience in Pennsylvania, Ohio, or West Virginia, Nationwide Permits, State Programmatic General Permits, Joint Permit Applications, Individual Permits, State Water Quality Certifications, and State/local wetlands and waterways, township, and floodplain regulations is essential. The position involves effectively preparing permitting documents and reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biological science, ecological science, environmental permitting, or related field.
  • 4-8 years of experience in environmental consulting, and/or regulatory agency employment in the region.
  • Familiarity with Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act (CWA) - specific state level experience in Pennsylvania, Ohio, or West Virginia.
  • Familiarity with Nationwide Permits, State Programmatic General Permits, Joint Permit Applications, Individual Permits.
  • Familiarity with State Water Quality Certifications.
  • Familiarity with State/local wetlands and waterways, township, and floodplain regulations.
  • Self-starter who can lead stream and wetland delineations.
  • Willingness to conduct field work in difficult terrain.
  • Independent thinking skills, the ability to self-start, able to work independently when needed.
  • Effective communication skills and independent task management.
  • Excellent teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Adept at technical writing and field data management.
  • Ability to effectively engage directly with staff and leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Wetland Delineator and/or PWS certification a plus.
  • GIS experience a plus.
