About The Position

The Strategy and Transformation Office (STO) is at the forefront of Highmark Health's mission to fix healthcare and solve community challenges by improving individual health, increasing patient engagement, and making healthcare more affordable. This hybrid role, requiring presence in the Pittsburgh or Buffalo NY office Tuesday through Thursday, focuses on developing and executing innovative plans to achieve these goals through the Living Health strategy, which includes building better insurance products and a redesigned delivery system. The Associate Strategy Partner collaborates with executives and stakeholders to develop and improve key enterprise strategic initiatives. This role involves elements of project management, problem-solving, data analytics, market analysis, team development, communication, and implementation, supporting the development of strategies for various initiatives and contributing to the overall organization strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, or related field, or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • 5 years of experience in Strategic Planning or related work experience in Business or Healthcare or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • 2 years of consulting experience (external or internal) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Ability to solve complex conceptual and operational problems; potential ability to lead teams in problem-solving exercises.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated influencing, and teamwork skills.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Focus on impacts to the customer of decisions rendered.
  • Proactive in driving change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, with servant leadership mindset.
  • Commitment to development of others and self.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Business, or related field.
  • 6 years of experience in payer, hospital system, or care delivery industry.
  • Experience influencing change in complex organizational systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support key strategic initiatives across Enterprise, including elements of team leadership, problem-solving, data analysis, project management, communication, and implementation support.
  • Participate in the development of strategic plans for the Enterprise and its key business units.
  • Support the team in identifying, clarifying, and resolving complex issues critical to the success of the initiative.
  • Support the identification of initiative impacts with other strategic initiatives to ensure alignment of the overall strategy.
  • Help develop standard analytics and processes to use in leading various strategic initiatives.
  • Play a role in shaping the culture and skill set of the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
