Strategy & Ops Engineering

Happyrobot Inc.San Francisco, CA
$180,000 - $240,000

About The Position

HappyRobot is the infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces. Our AI workers don't just communicate - they make decisions, take action, and run operations autonomously across voice, email, and enterprise systems. Born in Y Combinator (S23) and backed by a16z and Base10 with over $60M raised, we power critical operations for global enterprises worldwide. Our platform is battle-tested in the most demanding environments - where AI has real consequences. We started in logistics, built our own voice stack, models, and orchestration layer from the ground up, and are now bringing that infrastructure to every enterprise that runs the real economy. Learn more about our vision in our manifesto. Role Overview: We are looking to grow our team across Strategy & Ops Engineering to act as the operational backbone of our product organization, working directly with the CTO and Head of Product. This is a role for a high-output technical individual contributor who loves discipline, structure, and execution. At HappyRobot, you will sit at the critical intersection of four key functions: Product Engineering, Deployments, Go-To-Market, and Operations. You are the connective tissue that ensures these teams are not just co-existing, but synchronized. You will be a generalist execution machine, deployed to solve the most important problems blocking our velocity—whether that means refining data pipelines, structuring pricing models, or managing complex deployment logistics.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical or operations-heavy role (e.g., Product Operations, Solutions Engineering, Technology Strategy Consulting, Technical Program Management, or Forward Deployed Engineering).
  • Strong analytical & technical aptitude – be able to solve problems with technology.
  • Experience working in a multi-stakeholder environment, specifically interfacing between Engineering and Commercial/Field teams.
  • Ability to balance "big picture" strategic work (pricing, analysis) with "in the weeds" execution (data labeling coordination for RLHF, deployment coordination).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary link between the Product Engineering team and the Deployment team, ensuring the Deployment team is enabled on new features, overseeing the technical feedback loop from the field back to engineering, and guaranteeing new releases are successfully brought to market.
  • Partner with GTM to drive technical enablement, support Product-Led Sales (PLS) motions, and refine feature pricing structures, ensuring the commercial side understands the technical reality and value of what we are shipping.
  • Define and track product and company metrics, working with raw data to ensure optimization for the right outcomes.
  • Manage the human element of our agentic stack across voice, reasoning and coding agents, owning the coordination of in-house labelers and external agencies to ensure high-quality training data throughput.

Benefits

  • Healthcare, dental, vision coverage
  • Competitive salary + equity in a high-growth startup
