About The Position

This role sits within our People team, focused on problem-solving and supporting the organization rather than traditional policy writing. The team aims to enforce high standards, act as a resource for tough people problems, and be strategic thinkers and problem solvers. The day-to-day is dynamic, involving partnering with leaders on personnel decisions, conducting departmental audits to drive strategic changes, owning and executing company-wide initiatives like system implementations or process rebuilds, and proactively identifying and solving problems. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with opportunities for skill development and expanded influence, but it does not include a direct path to people management within the People team.

  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the business and pivot quickly in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Willingness to take on any task and figure it out.
  • Self-awareness and good judgment to know when to seek additional help.
  • Ability to be challenged, stretched, and pushed, and thrive off of feedback.
  • Must reside in Pacific, Mountain, or Central Time.
  • Ability to work Pacific hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference for candidates who prefer a slightly later working schedule (e.g., signing off at 6 or 7 pm PST).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders and managers across the company on key personnel decisions and challenges, such as designing hiring automation, conducting exit conversations, or coaching managers through leave of absence decisions.
  • Conduct quarterly departmental "audits" to analyze team operations and partner with leaders to implement strategic changes.
  • Own and execute initiatives with team-wide or organizational-wide impact, including new system implementations or rebuilding core onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Identify and solve problems across the organization, taking ownership to improve processes and operations.
