Strategy & Operations Associate

GlossGeniusNew York, NY
$140,000 - $180,000Hybrid

About The Position

GlossGenius is building a team of high-impact generalists who tackle the company's most important problems regardless of function. As a Strategy and Operations Manager, you'll be aligned to a functional department — Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, or another area of the business — and work directly with leadership to turn strategic priorities into operational reality. The problems you work on won't be fully defined when you get them. That's the point. This isn't a role with a fixed scope. You'll test new acquisition channels, build AI-powered systems that scale team capacity, identify operational gaps, and own high-impact projects from concept through launch. The expectation is that you move fast, build things that work, and keep raising the bar on what the function can do. You must be commutable to our NYC headquarters. We default to being in-office 3–4 days per week with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will report to a functional leader depending on team alignment at time of hire.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience with a track record of driving results, ideally with background in consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth technology company where you owned complex, ambiguous work rather than executing against a defined brief
  • Already built AI-powered systems that changed how a team or function operates, not just used AI tools to move faster on individual tasks, with real examples of workflows you've shipped that are still running
  • Comfortable operating without a fully defined problem or playbook, defaulting to action, forming a hypothesis, and iterating based on what the work reveals rather than waiting for clarity before starting
  • Strong analytical foundation, including the ability to design clean experiments, interpret data, and translate findings into clear strategic recommendations
  • Proven ability to drive alignment and influence across functions without direct authority, comfortable working with senior leaders and holding your own in ambiguous, high-stakes conversations

Responsibilities

  • Drive growth initiatives across your aligned function by testing and validating new acquisition channels, retention strategies, and operational experiments, and translating what works into scalable programs
  • Design and deploy AI-powered workflows and tools that multiply team capacity, identifying where automation eliminates low-judgment work and redirects time toward higher-impact problems
  • Identify operational gaps and inefficiencies within your function and get hands-on solving them, owning the work from diagnosis through execution rather than handing off to someone else to implement
  • Translate strategic priorities into concrete action plans, taking ownership of high-impact cross-functional projects from concept through launch
  • Build the analytical infrastructure that tracks what's working, including clean experiment design, performance reporting, and the data story that informs what to do next

Benefits

  • Competitive health & dental insurance options, with premiums partially covered by GG

  • Pre-tax commuter benefits

  • Team Bonding opportunities — as a distributed team, being able to build meaningful bonds both virtually and in person is incredibly important to us! We are constantly evaluating how we accomplish this and currently, teams are given opportunities to gather in person throughout the year
