About The Position

Raytheon is seeking a Strategy Analysis Associate Director to serve as a key thought partner to senior leadership and drive enterprise-level strategic insights across our global portfolio. This role is ideal for an experienced strategy professional who thrives on turning complex market, competitive, and financial data into clear, actionable recommendations that shape high-impact business decisions. In this position, you will lead rigorous qualitative and quantitative analysis to support long-range planning, growth initiatives, portfolio optimization, and inorganic opportunities such as mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across business units, finance, engineering, and operations—framing ambiguous problems, developing structured hypotheses, and delivering executive-ready insights that influence Raytheon’s strategic direction. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic judgment, deep analytical capability, and exceptional executive communication skills, along with a solid understanding of the aerospace and defense ecosystem, customer budget environments, and competitive dynamics. You will operate with significant autonomy, manage multiple complex workstreams, and play a visible role in helping Raytheon strengthen and extend its competitive advantage.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 12+ years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 10+years’ experience.
  • Experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or a closely related strategic role.
  • Prior experience in a top-tier consulting firm and/or an internal corporate strategy organization, with demonstrated use of structured strategic decision‑making frameworks.
  • Recent, direct experience in the aerospace and defense industry, with an understanding of market structure, key customers, and competitive dynamics.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to lead multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality outputs under tight timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives and collaborating with cross-functional global teams.
  • Hands-on experience with data analysis, research, and visualization, including business case development, market assessments, and sensitivity analysis.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Graduate degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Significant knowledge of the U.S. Department of Defense and/or Intelligence Community, including budgeting, acquisition processes, and mission priorities.
  • Advanced experience with complex financial modeling, scenario analysis, and investment evaluation.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments and influence outcomes without direct authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end strategy engagements, including problem definition, hypothesis creation, analysis, synthesis, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Drive research, analysis, and development of strategic deliverables such as market entry plans, growth roadmaps, portfolio assessments, and competitive response strategies.
  • Partner with senior leaders to evaluate strategic tradeoffs and ensure initiatives align with enterprise priorities.
  • Conduct market sizing and forecasting using customer budget analysis to assess market size, growth rates, key segments, and competitive positioning.
  • Analyze U.S. and international defense spending trends, customer priorities, and procurement dynamics to inform strategic planning.
  • Deliver timely data-driven market trend insights, emerging technologies, and competitive threats and opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with strategic business units to understand market landscapes, customer needs, and competitive dynamics critical to strategy execution.
  • Translate enterprise-level strategy into tailored insights and recommendations for individual business units.
  • Facilitate structured discussions and workshops with cross-functional global teams.
  • Develop business cases, sensitivity analyses, and scenario models to evaluate strategic options, investments, and inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Support assessment of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and alliances, including strategic rationale, market attractiveness, and financial implications.
  • Synthesize complex financial and strategic data into clear, concise recommendations for executive audiences.
  • Create high-quality presentations, reports, and visualizations for senior leadership, including briefings and decision memos.
  • Communicate strategic narratives using data, visuals, and structured logic to drive alignment and decision-making.
  • Develop analytical tools, dashboards, and visual frameworks to enhance internal deliverables and support recurring business needs.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline, automate, and enhance strategy and analytics processes.
  • Apply consulting-style best practices to improve the rigor, speed, and consistency of strategic work products.
