About The Position

As a dedicated Strategic Supplier Relationship Manager I, you will provide primary strategic and operational relationship management and oversight between USAA and assigned third party suppliers. Proactively seek opportunities to continuously build rapport and partnership with third parties. Provide guidance and enforce the standardization of supplier strategies, policies, procedures, guidelines, and reporting. Engage regularly with clients, client relationship management, and others to ensure alignment of goals between USAA and the supplier, to understand and convey client needs to suppliers while understanding and conveying capabilities back to the client and client relationship managers. Work closely with CoSA Supplier Governance (CSG) to understand measurable performance of the supplier and provide guidance in taking appropriate-level corrective action. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years of experience in operational functional line of business (real estate lending), quality assurance, control, audit, or vendor management within a financial serviced organization.
  • 2 years of experience in program management, quality, and oversight to include experience managing internal and external partners building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proficient experience with data analysis tools, industry data sources, Microsoft Office tools and applicable business software.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation.
  • 2 years of experience in procurement or contract writing.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • U.S. military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner

Responsibilities

  • Communicating and driving the vision and strategy effectively to key stakeholders and Bank agile team members.
  • Ensuring delivery of quality product and member experience solutions through collaboration with stakeholders to determine business needs.
  • Working closely with the Team-of-Teams Lead to assist in clarifying and driving alignment on the business strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Translating this understanding into a clear vision for the Bank agile team to inform the creation and prioritization of the Bank agile team's backlog of work.
  • Partnering with Team-of-Teams Lead to define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for output based on business requirements and customer needs.
  • Anticipating and solving complex issues using a data-driven approach to decision making including allocating funds and developing and tracking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) that drive Bank product success.
  • Delivering against Bank agile team level OKRs.
  • Acting as 'voice of the end-user'.
  • Proactively seeking customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements to ensure end user value is delivered to the marketplace.
  • Owning Bank agile team backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement).
  • Maintaining a groomed backlog of user stories; works with the Agile Bank agile team to estimate story size and complexity.
  • Optimizing the flow of value through the multi-Bank agile team Agile environment and progresses towards objectives, goals, and commitments, while removing impediments, resolving conflicts, and managing risks and issues.
  • Taking a strategic view and thinking proactively about the right way to meet objectives.
  • Acting in service of the Bank agile team's needs and goals; offer feedback on work-in-progress, clarifies requirements, anticipates and removes roadblocks or impediments that may prevent the Bank agile team from progressing on objectives and answers questions.
  • Looking for opportunities for continuous Bank agile team and process improvement.
  • Making recommendations to leadership.
  • May lead functional Bank agile teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.
  • Ensuring risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
