About The Position

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will play a key role in driving sourcing excellence and supporting refinery and terminal operations across North America. Your goal will be to develop and execute sourcing and category strategies, lead sourcing initiatives, and deliver value through supplier management and innovation opportunities. Your success will be demonstrated through effective contract management, cost optimization, stakeholder alignment, and continuous improvement in supplier performance. Requirements

  • Ability to identify innovation opportunities and develop strategic supply chain visions
  • Strong relationship-building, networking, and teamwork capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement
  • Advanced negotiation, influencing, and persuasion skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cost modeling capabilities
  • Solid understanding of contract drafting and contract law
  • Ability to assess and mitigate commercial risks
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Minimum seven years of experience in the oil and gas industry, focused on construction and industrial maintenance
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong financial acumen considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and implement sourcing activities using strategic sourcing methodologies
  • Manage RFx processes including proposal evaluation, negotiation strategies, and contract execution
  • Develop and steward multi-year category strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Conduct complex data analysis to identify opportunities and develop actionable recommendations
  • Drive Total Cost of Ownership reduction initiatives and cost savings opportunities
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance through KPI development and monitoring
  • Ensure effective contract management including maintenance and compliance
  • Apply legal and commercial knowledge to contracts and sourcing decisions
  • Support mentoring and coaching of junior and intermediate team members
