In partnership with the Ontario Government, a new state-of-the-art surgical and patient tower will be built at UHN’s Toronto Western Hospital. This will be UHN’s largest capital project to date, costing over $1 billion to build. Construction of the new tower began in 2024 and it’s expected to open towards the end of 2028. As a member of the Strategic Sourcing Team within the UHN Procurement and Supply Chain, the Strategic Sourcing Specialist reports to a Senior Manager of Sourcing and supports the category teams in all sourcing events. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating sourcing activities for assigned categories of goods and services related to procurement for the new surgical and patient tower, in compliance with regulations and aligned to the goals and objectives of UHN and its stakeholders. Ideal candidates are able to demonstrate an ethical, professional, and accountable manner as a liaison between Clinicians, Researchers, Suppliers and Stakeholders. The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will ensure compliance with legislative and quality standards by leading and coordinating strategic sourcing, contracting and procurement activities in line with UHN Corporate Policies, the Ontario Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives (BPSPD), the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), public tendering legislation and other policies and procedures.
