About The Position

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimize supplier performance, reduce total cost, manage supply risk, and support the long-term growth of DASCO. This position will lead competitive sourcing initiatives, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), supplier negotiations, contract development, supplier performance management, and category strategies across the organization. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will serve as a senior procurement resource and will work closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Legal, IT, Fleet, and executive leadership to develop sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, service, compliance, and business continuity. This position requires an experienced procurement professional capable of independently managing complex sourcing initiatives from opportunity identification through contract execution and supplier implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience.
  • Demonstrated experience independently developing and managing RFPs.
  • Demonstrated supplier negotiation experience.
  • Experience evaluating supplier contracts and commercial terms.
  • Experience conducting financial and total-cost-of-ownership analysis.
  • Experience developing RFPs within Jaggaer Advanced Sourcing Optimizer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key products and services.
  • Lead competitive RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes.
  • Develop comprehensive RFP documents, specifications, supplier requirements, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Identify and qualify potential suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier market research and benchmarking.
  • Develop category-specific sourcing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate suppliers and leverage organizational purchasing volume.
  • Develop sourcing strategies that balance cost savings with supply continuity and operational requirements.
  • Own the complete sourcing process including: Business requirements development, Spend and market analysis, Supplier identification, RFP development, Supplier communications, Bid evaluation, Financial modeling, Supplier presentations, Negotiations, Supplier selection, Contract execution, Implementation, Post-award supplier performance management.
  • Develop objective supplier evaluation methodologies considering: Pricing, Total cost of ownership, Product quality, Service capabilities, Geographic coverage, Implementation requirements, Technology capabilities, Supply continuity, Financial stability, Contract terms, Supplier performance.
  • Lead supplier pricing and commercial negotiations.
  • Negotiate product pricing, rebates, freight, payment terms, service levels, implementation costs, and other commercial terms.
  • Develop negotiation strategies prior to supplier discussions.
  • Prepare financial models identifying the potential value and risk of supplier proposals.
  • Partner with leadership and Legal on contract negotiations.
  • Document negotiated savings and commercial improvements.
  • Maintain visibility into major supplier agreements, expiration dates, renewal periods, and termination requirements.
  • Ensure negotiated pricing and commercial terms are implemented correctly.
  • Identify contracts requiring renegotiation or competitive sourcing.
  • Partner with Legal to review commercial provisions and supplier obligations.
  • Support contract assignment and supplier transition activities associated with acquisitions.
  • Identify contractual and commercial risks that could impact operations.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for categories that may include: Medical equipment, CPAP and respiratory products, Medical supplies, Oxygen and medical gases, Repair and maintenance services, Fleet vehicles and fleet services, Logistics and transportation, Technology and software, Professional services, Facilities and property-related services, Capital equipment.
  • Establish structured supplier business reviews.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Analytics to develop supplier scorecards.
  • Establish supplier corrective-action plans when performance falls below expectations.
  • Develop strategic relationships with critical suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier innovation and process improvement.
  • Develop alternative and secondary sources for critical products where appropriate.
  • Identify products and suppliers that represent significant supply continuity risk.
  • Develop contingency and secondary sourcing strategies.
  • Evaluate supplier financial, geographic, operational, and concentration risks.
  • Partner with operations to establish business continuity strategies for critical products.
  • Monitor industry and supplier developments that could affect pricing or availability.
  • Develop sourcing business cases and financial analyses.
  • Establish savings targets for sourcing initiatives.
  • Track realized versus projected savings.
  • Partner with Finance to validate material savings.
  • Analyze supplier price increases and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Develop total-cost-of-ownership models rather than relying exclusively on purchase price.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence and serve as a senior procurement resource within DASCO.
  • Take a sourcing opportunity from an initial business problem through market analysis, RFP development, negotiation, supplier selection, contracting, and implementation with limited day-to-day direction.
