Strategic Sourcing Manager IT

About The Position

The Strategic Sourcing Manager for IT is responsible for leading complex sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bids as well as establishing contracts and relationships with new suppliers, managing renewals and extensions with existing suppliers, and working with stakeholders to navigate the procure-to-pay process. The Strategic Sourcing Manager for IT supports Staples Retail and NAD Technology including purchases of Hardware, Software and IT Services. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for specific projects and contract negotiations to achieve annual sourcing savings targets. Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to understand and achieve business strategies and objectives. Execute sourcing strategies to provide enhanced value, revenue, total-cost reduction, continuous improvement and achieve savings targets. Lead supplier selection, contract negotiation, and contracting process. Lead contract negotiations including new contracts, renewals, and extensions. Manage complex sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, and competitive bids. Collaborate with stakeholders to manage the procure-to-pay process. Provide stakeholders with best-in-class service through the entire sourcing process. Act as liaison between Staples Legal team, Staples Risk team, Staples Privacy team, and Staples Cyber Security team with suppliers and business partners.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement and sourcing related experience
Proficient in procurement systems – Coupa and/or other procure to pay systems.
Demonstrated ability to generate cost reduction savings.
Strong verbal and written communications.
Strong interpersonal skills/strong team player.
Strong project management/leadership skills.
Strong analytical skills and financial acumen.
Ability to work with all levels of the organization and suppliers.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to “take the ball and run” with minimal direction.
Ability to understand procurement protocols and processes.

Nice To Haves

Minimum 5 years of experience in a technology role preferred.
Masters Degree in related field
