About The Position

The Strategy Sourcing Manager II is the lead on major category sourcing initiatives and/or portfolios and execution of the sourcing mandate for assigned portfolio(s). This role provides professional and specialized support on a range of complex/major sourcing initiatives and category portfolio. Day to day activities : Lead the development and execution of category and sourcing strategies for complex portfolios or multiple related initiatives, accountable for delivering value, managing risk, and ensuring alignment with TD’s procurement standards and risk appetite. Leads sourcing initiatives and supplier engagements within assigned portfolios, ensuring alignment to procurement policies, controls, and risk requirements Lead complex supplier negotiations and commercial decision‑making for assigned categories or initiatives, accountable for negotiation outcomes, total cost of ownership optimization, and alignment with business objectives. Leads or contributes to cross‑functional sourcing initiatives within and across portfolios, providing subject matter expertise on complex sourcing, commercial, or risk‑related matters Synthesize market intelligence, supplier insights, financial analysis, and risk considerations into clear, defensible recommendations for senior stakeholders, articulating trade‑offs and implications. Leverage advanced analytics, scenario modeling, and AI‑enabled insights to accelerate option development and improve decision quality, while retaining accountability for judgment‑based decisions, escalation, and exception handling. Leads a portfolio of work and may span multiple initiatives Lead complex sourcing initiatives spanning a portfolio of Core Operations and/or Technology related sourcing engagements across a range of complexity and risk levels Communicate proactively and transparently with team members, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring alignment on priorities, progress, risks, and dependencies. Advises on complex trade-offs across commercial, risk, and stakeholder considerations Drives sourcing outcomes across portfolios with material impact Depth & Scope: Acts as liaison with business / executives and provides sourcing expertise and recommendations to business partners to optimize Sourcing strategies to enable TD and business specific objectives and goals Within category specialty, supports business partners by contributing to governance programs and management programs Manages strategic sourcing strategies and initiatives that support TD and business partner needs and objectives as well as helps to mitigate risks to the organization May provide guidance on Sourcing/outsourcing best practices Leads supplier negotiations to maximize total cost of ownership in a given portfolio and work with business partners Adheres to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to sourcing activities for our business area Ensures respective sourcing programs/policies/practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities Consistently exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalates issues where appropriate Ensures business operations are in compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties, transaction approvals and physical control of assets) Participates in cross-functional /SSG enterprise / initiatives as a subject matter expert helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations Conducts internal and external research projects; supports the development / delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience Conducts meaningful SSG analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, make recommendations, assess the effectiveness of programs/ policies/ practices Actively manages relationships within and across various business lines, corporate and/or control functions and ensures alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite Participates fully as a member of the team, supports a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensures timely communication of issues/ points of interest Provides thought leadership and/ or industry knowledge for own area of expertise in own area and participates in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit Participates in personal performance management and development activities, including cross training within own team Keeps others informed and up-to-date about the status / progress of projects and / or all relevant or useful information related to day-to-day activities Contributes to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices. Requirements

  • Post-Secondary Education and / or 7+ years of related experience
  • Highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial knowledge of Sourcing and procurement and/or knowledge of broader related areas

  • Supply chain certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of category and sourcing strategies for complex portfolios or multiple related initiatives, accountable for delivering value, managing risk, and ensuring alignment with TD’s procurement standards and risk appetite.
