About The Position

As a Strategic Sourcing Director – Global Ops (MRO, Facilities, Utilities), you’ll be part of our Global Supply Management Indirect Leadership team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to set and execute the strategic vision for the MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), Facilities, Utilities categories globally. You will lead a high-impact team, drive enterprise-wide sourcing strategies, and directly influence the total cost of ownership (TCO), operational excellence, and innovation for our world-class brands. Develop and own the strategic direction for the Operations category, aligning sourcing initiatives with overall business objectives and global supply chain transformation goals. Analyze current procurement and contractual situations, identifying opportunities for supplier rationalization and supply base consolidation. Oversee Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) value creation through initiatives focused on productivity, quality, innovation, service excellence, risk management, and margin resiliency. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of category managers and sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Coordinate with global and regional Operations category leads to ensure alignment of sourcing strategies across all regions. Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key suppliers, internal stakeholders with Corporate and various Plant stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to drive value, risk mitigation, and sustainability initiatives. Oversee the execution of large-scale sourcing projects, negotiations, and contract management, ensuring optimal terms, quality, and service for the enterprise. Champion digital transformation within the sourcing function, leveraging data analytics, automation, and advanced technologies to deliver measurable results. Manage a significant spend portfolio (~$400M), with full accountability for cost savings, working capital improvements, supplier performance, and other key sourcing KPIs (e.g., Preferred Supplier, Spend Under Contract). Report directly to Sr. Director Ops and Service Delivery, providing regular updates on category performance, strategic risks, and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain leadership roles, preferably in a global manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations, including Chemicals, Gases, Uniforms, Lubricants, Repairs, etc.) category management.
  • Strong balance of strategic and operational capabilities, including global sourcing, supplier management, and commodity risk management.
  • Global mindset with experience working in international and multi-cultural matrix environments.
  • Proficient in advanced sourcing techniques, supplier management, SKU rationalization, and value engineering.
  • Comfortable working in a high-paced environment, with strong project management and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large, diverse teams and managing multi-million-dollar spend portfolios.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and proficiency with digital procurement tools and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated Ability to influence without direct authority and navigate conflicts constructively to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience with other Operations categories strong preferred (e.g., Facilities, Utilities, Capital Equipment).
  • Experience driving change at the plant level, particularly within decentralized operational models (preferred).
