About The Position

About the role/team: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Sales Manager to join the WEX Travel Commercial Team. This role will be accountable for developing new business relationships and opportunities across the Company’s product portfolio in the Americas. WEX Travel is responsible for leading market and business development activities and supporting the sales process to create and sustain outstanding revenue results for WEX Corporate Payments across the travel industry. This is an ideal position for an experienced, results-orientated individual with a consultative sales approach. How you will make an impact: Identifying business opportunities with new customers Managing the sales process through the complete sales cycle from lead generation and initial prospect contact through to successful closing and follow up sales activities Effectively communicating WEX’s market proposition; accurately interpreting clients’ needs; proposing suitable solutions and closing deals Identifying new products, solutions, services or partnerships which complement WEX’s offerings Meeting with clients and partners to discuss requirements and present proposals as appropriate Understanding the customer and their drivers and developing strong client relationships with a matrix of stakeholders within the organization Preparing high quality presentations and proposals for submission to clients in support of new business pitches and bid opportunities Providing timely and accurate revenue forecasting and management information; and reporting on a regular basis as required Working closely with the internal operations teams to optimize the sales process from the first customer contact and to ensure smooth delivery of client services in line with customer expectations Keeping the Salesforce and Account Management systems fully up to date with relevant data Strategic Sales Manager positions may be home based with the requirement to travel about 20-30% of the time to meet clients and regular visits to the Company's headquarters based in Portland, Maine.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ of direct sales, account and/or channel management develop experience
  • Proven record of generating own leads, a hunter mentality

Nice To Haves

  • B2B payment experience and Virtual payment industry knowledge a substantial plus

Responsibilities
