About The Position

The Strategic Sales Advisor is responsible for large group new business acquisition in the southern Ohio market, focused on clients with 51-99 employees. This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 2 years of sales experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Sales license and appointment required as governed by state law.
  • Sales license and appointment required upon hire or is required to be obtained and appointed within sixty (60) days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated success in health insurance, employee benefits, or related B2B sales environments, with experience managing and growing relationships with small to mid-sized employer groups.
  • Strong understanding of group health insurance products, funding arrangements, benefit plan design, and regulatory requirements impacting employer-sponsored health coverage.
  • Experience working with employers in the 51–99 employee segment, as well as collaborating with brokers, consultants, and internal cross-functional teams, is highly preferred.
  • Excellent consultative selling, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills, with a proven ability to identify client needs, develop tailored solutions, and achieve sales and retention goals.
  • Strong analytical abilities, proficiency with CRM systems and sales technology tools, and the ability to interpret claims, utilization, and financial data to support client recommendations are also desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Achieves new business target for all lines of business through execution of sales process.
  • Cultivates trust-based relationships and develops comprehensive understandings of client needs and priorities.
  • Acts as a consultative collaborative partner with brokers, consultants, and key decision makers.
  • Develops and implements business plans to address broker/client needs.
  • Conducts broker, agency, and/or client education on pertinent topics.
  • Coordinates with internal partners to meet and exceed client expectations, driving opportunities for additional growth and product sales.
  • Ability to learn and become familiar with the industry and products at the local, state, and federal level; continuously updates knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.
  • With general supervision, provides sales knowledge to clients and brokers and is able to ask for and accept guidance when needed from leadership and/or team members acting as resources.
