About The Position

Marsh is seeking an experienced Strategic Risk Advisor to join their Risk Consulting team. This role, which can be based anywhere in the United States, will lead efforts in Fractional Risk Management outsourcing. Key responsibilities include enhancing service offerings, managing a team of consultants and contractors to ensure delivery excellence, and overseeing projects for profitability and growth. The advisor will collaborate across the Risk Consulting team, engaging specialists in risk management, risk control, and risk financing (traditional, captive, and alternative). They will also leverage Analytics teams to design and deploy customized solutions for clients, including risk management strategy design and deployment, risk program optimization, and the implementation of tools to reduce clients' Total Cost of Risk (TCOR).

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of risk management and consulting experience focused on reducing Total Cost of Risk.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams.
  • Skilled in recruiting, developing, and inspiring talent at all levels.
  • Track record of motivating teams to achieve excellence, collaboration and continuous professional growth.
  • Unwavering dedication to exceptional client delivery and excels in building strong, trusted client relationships.
  • Expert analytical skills to assess organizational dynamics, trends and identify key performance drivers.
  • Experience using analytics for risk management decision support.
  • Experience overseeing some aspects of global insurance program design and placement.
  • Captive insurance program knowledge.
  • Preferred combination of several tracks from Engineering, risk consulting, Retail Broker placement, underwriting, in-house risk management department (at least 2).
  • Insurance / Risk Management industry knowledge.

  • Successful in identifying and setting strategy, leading teams towards implementation, and managing outcomes and performance.
  • Skill in interacting with Client’s Senior Management, Risk Management, Treasury and “C” suite.
  • Skill in sales situations with a track record of success in business development situations.
  • Risk Management Strategy design (preferably with some client side experience).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes and meet deadlines while working in a team environment.
  • General understanding of how to work with analytical teams and actuaries.
  • Understanding of Captive insurance vehicle program design and deployment.
  • Ability to assess client risk management processes and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Capable of working and managing across national time zone and remote work environments, at times working outside normal business hours.
  • Direct experience and full accountability for managing businesses under a Profit & Loss (P&L) statement.

  • Support growth initiatives and product/solution development activities.
