Strategic Procurement Manager

RingCentralBelmont, CA
$100,450 - $143,500Onsite

About The Position

RingCentral is seeking a high-ownership Strategic Procurement Manager to lead its end-to-end procurement lifecycle. This role serves as a critical link between internal business requesters and external vendors, focusing on optimizing spending and ensuring contract soundness. The position requires a procurement generalist with a "value-hunter" mindset, capable of analyzing contracts across various categories to extract better terms and achieve savings. The role involves acting as a project manager and diplomat, aligning the needs of Legal, stakeholders, and FP&A to deliver optimal results.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a procurement or strategic sourcing role with a proven ability to manage diverse spend categories (Software, Marketing, Professional Services, etc.).
  • High sense of ownership, with a track record of taking initiative and seeing complex projects through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Basic experience with contractual terms and the ability to partner effectively with Legal to refine T&Cs, SLAs, and MSAs.
  • Experience with procurement workflows.
  • Exceptional ability to "speak the language" of different departments—translating technical IT needs into financial terms for FP&A or risk terms for Legal.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NetSuite and DocuSign.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI tools to summarize contracts, analyze spend data, or streamline procurement workflows.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment where you must pivot between tactical execution (getting a signature today) and strategic improvement (saving 20% tomorrow).
  • Strong background in "value-based" negotiation—looking beyond just the price tag to optimize the total business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full "Intake-to-Contract" process, acting as the primary point of contact for internal requesters from initial request through vendor selection, negotiation, and final execution.
  • Aggressively optimize costs by treating every contract as an opportunity to save, challenging historical spend, negotiating discounts, and meeting or exceeding annual savings targets.
  • Act as an "Internal Consultant" to align priorities of FP&A (budget adherence), Legal (risk mitigation), and IT (security/integration) while meeting business requester needs.
  • Scrutinize various contract types, identifying "red flag" terms, hidden fees, and unfavorable renewal clauses across multiple categories.
  • Simultaneously manage a high volume of active contracts and renewals at different lifecycle stages without losing momentum or attention to detail.
  • Manage external vendor relationships through the negotiation phase, positioning the company as a "customer of choice" while maintaining high standards for vendor performance.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance
  • Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSAs) and Commuter benefits
  • 401K match and ESPP
  • Paid time off and paid sick leave
  • Paid parental and pregnancy leave
  • Family-forming benefits (IVF, Preservation, Adoption etc.)
  • Emergency backup care (Child/Adult/Pets)
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with counseling sessions available 24/7
  • Free legal services that provide legal advice, document creation and estate planning
  • Employee bonus referral program
  • Student loan refinancing assistance
  • Employee perks and discounts program
