The planner evaluates national‑security policy, military strategy, defense‑planning guidance, threat projections, and intelligence estimates to ensure plans are aligned with governing doctrine, operational requirements, and future mission needs. The position also provides mission analysis, develops courses of action, and drafts supporting war plans covering both contingency and operational scenarios.
