About The Position

The Strategic Partner Manager - Payment is the primary owner and "product owner" for a portfolio of key commerce and fintech partnerships. You are responsible for the long-term success of these relationships, balancing revenue growth with a seamless merchant experience. This role requires a "builder" mindset—someone who can navigate complex global organizations, influence product roadmaps, and execute go-to-market strategies that drive high-volume merchant adoption. This is a hybrid role based in Austin, TX. We require 3 days a week in office and are looking for local candidates only.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in partner management, client success, or business development, specifically shipping results in a SaaS, fintech, or eCommerce environment
  • A genuine interest in payment economics and processors; you want to understand how money moves and how to optimize it for merchants
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage complex, high-pressure partner dynamics
  • A self-starter who excels at executing with minimal direction and thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Salesforce (or similar CRM), Tableau, and Microsoft Office; comfortable using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) to enhance productivity and solve problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Proven history of hitting revenue quotas within mid-market or enterprise client acquisition models.
  • Prior experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to influence integration roadmaps.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 15% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain deep relationships with executive-level decision-makers across assigned partners, acting as their primary advocate within BigCommerce
  • Collaborate with the Commerce and Marketing teams to design and implement effective GTM strategies for new integrations, features, and market expansions
  • Partner closely with Product and Client Success teams to ensure frictionless onboarding and superior servicing for merchants utilizing partner integrations
  • Develop and track partner success metrics (KPIs) to drive merchant adoption, revenue growth, and long-term customer satisfaction
  • Serve as a mentor and coach for less experienced peers, assisting leadership in fostering an environment of teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement
  • Plan and control balanced revenue growth with a multi-year focus, utilizing CRM and data tools to monitor health and identify opportunities
