About The Position

Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business. As a Strategic Negotiator, you will be on the front lines of securing the physical infrastructure powering Google’s global products, including Search, Cloud, and AI innovation. In this role, you bring background in data center real estate, commercial dealmaking, and quantitative analysis, along with the ability to drive goal transactions from initial market evaluation through agreement execution. Collaborating across teams, you will leverage investigative skills to assist in securing capacity through colocation leases and development partnerships. You will play a crucial part in international strategy, ensuring timely delivery while meeting long-term cost-efficiency targets. The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of experience negotiating and structuring agreements or leading business development.
6 years of experience in commercial or industrial real estate, sourcing, or infrastructure acquisition.
Experience with corporate finance concepts (e.g., Net Present Value (NPV), Return on Investment (ROI)) and performing financial modeling.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of data center concepts, power, or cooling technology.
Familiarity with basic agreement terms and redlining documents.
Ability to synthesize information clearly and communicate effectively in a changing, global environment.

Responsibilities

Support the execution of critical real estate leases and agreements (e.g., colocation, power, fiber) by assisting in the agreement, redlining, and management of contractual and business terms.
Ensure alignment by coordinating closely with internal Legal, Finance, and Technical teams to meet project timelines.
Conduct market research and financial analysis (including NPV, ROI, and TCO modeling) to forecast pricing, analyze the market landscape, and assess new markets.
Prepare investment summaries and draft financial business cases for review by executive leadership.
Maintain tracking systems for the development pipeline and provide regular reports on portfolio performance metrics and market trends.
