About The Position

As a key hub for Kolon Group’s North American business, this position is responsible for strengthening the competitiveness of existing businesses, identifying new growth opportunities, and designing and executing mid-to-long-term growth strategies in North America through strategic partnerships and investments.

Requirements

  • Experience in the North American market
  • Background in manufacturing, industrials, or advanced materials
  • Deal execution/closing experience for investments or partnerships
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident preferred
  • Native-level English proficiency (able to lead external negotiations and partnerships)
  • Strong understanding of North American business practices and decision-making processes, with proven ability to apply them in practice
  • Basic Korean communication skills to collaborate effectively with HQ and internal stakeholders (fluency not required)

Responsibilities

  • North America Market Analysis & Insights: Analyze North American market trends across existing and new business areas (industry structure, regulatory environment, supply-chain shifts, customer and competitor analysis). Conduct upstream/downstream industry structure and value chain analysis. Assess strategic fit between internal capabilities and external market opportunities.
  • Enhancing Competitiveness of Existing Businesses: Benchmark competitors and analyze strategic positioning. Conduct customer segmentation and develop key account strategies. Develop business expansion strategies (market expansion, product extension, partnership models, etc.). Identify synergies and cross-selling opportunities across business units and affiliates.
  • New Business Opportunity Identification & Market Entry Strategy: Explore new opportunities in strategic focus areas such as advanced materials, space/defense, and energy. Develop and execute market entry strategies (Greenfield, JV, Partnerships, M&A structuring, etc.). Build mid-to-long-term growth roadmaps.
  • Develop optimal operating strategies for North American expansion (manufacturing, supply chain, certifications, regulatory response, etc.).
  • Proactively identify and outreach to strategic partners and customers (build target lists, initiate cold/warm outreach, and set up and lead meetings).
  • Structure partnerships and joint ventures.
  • Support deal structuring and negotiations.
  • Support pilot projects and early-stage commercialization.
  • Source deal targets (M&A, JVs, minority/seed investments, etc.).
  • Conduct commercial due diligence.
  • Evaluate investment rationale and expected impact (valuation, synergies, strategic fit, etc.).
  • Develop action plans and collaborate with relevant affiliates/business units.
  • Execute investment processes including outreach, negotiations, and contracting.
