About The Position

The Office of Procurement, Payment and Travel (OPPT) is seeking a Strategic Initiatives & Stakeholder Engagement Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. Join the Office of Procurement, Payment and Travel (OPPT) in a highly collaborative and visible role that helps shape how our organization serves Oregon State University. OPPT’s work touches nearly every part of the university, and our team is committed to delivering responsive, transparent and customer-focused services while building strong partnerships across the OSU community. Working closely with OPPT leadership and partners across the Division of Finance and Administration, this position will turn ideas and strategic priorities into action, connect people and perspectives across organizational boundaries and bring momentum to complex initiatives. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant to the position and five years of experience leading and coordinating projects, strategic initiatives, or organizational improvement efforts.

  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research, analyze information and data, develop reports, and provide recommendations that support decision-making and organizational priorities.
  • Experience building and maintaining productive relationships and partnerships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience developing and implementing communication strategies using a variety of communication and digital platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences using a variety of communication methods.
  • Experience supporting organizational learning, change management, employee engagement, or professional development activities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using technology and digital tools to support communications, information management, reporting, or operational activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and provide strategic support on complex organizational issues.
  • This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
  • This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic initiatives and special projects that advance OPPT and Office of the Deputy CFO priorities, translating leadership goals into actionable plans, coordinating cross-functional work and driving projects through implementation.
  • Build and strengthen stakeholder relationships with campus partners, customers, suppliers and external organizations through strategic outreach, engagement and collaboration that improve services and organizational outcomes.
  • Develop and execute communications and engagement strategies for OPPT programs, services and initiatives, translating complex information into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences and communication channels.
  • Manage and steward OPPT’s digital presence and organizational resources, including websites, SharePoint, brand resources, shared documentation and technology planning to support effective communication, knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Advance organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement by gathering and analyzing data and stakeholder feedback, identifying opportunities, supporting policy and operational improvements and coordinating learning, change management and employee development efforts.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and partner to OPPT leadership, researching complex issues, evaluating options, developing recommendations and supporting organizational, workforce, budget and succession planning.
