About The Position

Headway's mission is to fix the mental healthcare system by building a new system everyone can access. They have automated the administrative work involved in insurance, such as credentialing, claims, and payment reconciliation. Over 70,000 providers across all 50 states use their software, serving over 1 million patients. Headway is building tools for therapists to run their practices, improving the experience of finding a therapist, and investing in platform foundations for scalability. They are a Series D company with over $325M in funding and are looking for exceptional people to help achieve their mission and make this the most meaningful experience of their careers. The Strategic Finance Manager will be part of the Strategic Finance GTM team, playing a critical role in driving durable marketplace health for both providers and patients. This is a highly cross-functional role for someone who excels at the intersection of financial analysis and strategic decision-making. The role involves building models, tracking performance, and generating insights to drive appointment volume, retention, and long-run unit economics.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional experience, ideally in a mix of financial services (Investment Banking / Consulting / Private Equity) and highly analytical roles at a fast-growing tech company (Strategic Finance)

  • Comfortable working with large datasets
  • Detail-oriented with a “measure twice, cut once” approach when working with financial data
  • Excited about AI and how it's reshaping finance, and actively explore and apply AI tools to drive faster insights, greater efficiency, and smarter decision-making
  • Excited to work cross functionally with the business teams to develop a greater understanding of function-specific efficiency metrics and help course-correct where necessary
  • Take ownership and are a resourceful self-starter—proactively seek context, solve ambiguous problems, and anticipate stakeholder needs
  • Communicate complex insights clearly, tailoring your message for different audiences (finance vs. business/product partners)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and enjoy collaborating with Provider, Patient, product, and growth teams
  • Excited about joining a mission-driven company and driving marketplace efficiency and durable growth to improve mental healthcare access

  • Build and maintain functional operating models for Provider and Patient, and drive ongoing budgeting and forecasting processes for the function
  • Lead deep dives to identify business problems, perform root cause analysis, and develop strategies for accelerating progress — monitoring trends, surfacing early signals of de-averaged performance, and partnering with product, operating, and growth teams to address issues and scale successful behaviors
