The Strategic Finance & Inventory Manager will act as a crucial link between Supply Chain Operations, Product Innovation, and Strategic Finance, evaluating projects to boost long-term growth and providing insights into inventory to enhance operational and financial efficiency. Reporting to the Director of Operations Finance, this role involves collaborating on innovation, supporting supply planning, and managing periodic inventory reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a deep understanding of project analysis, inventory accounting, and forecasting, with the ability to translate financial impacts and provide actionable recommendations. A passion for process improvement and automation is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or related fields.
  • 5+ years of progressive FP&A experience within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry with particular experience in Inventory Forecasting.
  • Highly skilled in Supply Chain / Operations Finance with demonstrated success in building strong strategic partnerships.
  • Proven history of championing process improvement and automation.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including working capital impacts.
  • Works well under pressure and meets deadlines.
  • At ease presenting key results verbally, in writing and visually to larger audience.
  • Effective in meeting management: clearly outlines purpose, keeps participants engaged, communicates follow-ups.
  • Agile in Excel, NetSuite, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EPM, Tableau or PowerBI a plus.
  • Strong aptitude in gathering insights from data across multiple sources and a passion on process improvement and automation is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the critical bridge between Supply Chain Operations, Product Innovation and Strategic Finance.
  • Evaluate projects to enhance returns on long-term strategic growth initiatives.
  • Provide insight into Inventory positions to drive efficiency goals of the Operations and Finance organizations.
  • Act as a key partner on innovation with major responsibilities including pro-forma project COGS, unit economics, scenarios and sensitivities.
  • Collaborate with Operations to support the supply planning processes.
  • Ownership of periodic inventory reporting.
  • Build comprehensive project cost models to support new product development and other pipeline optimizations.
  • Partner with R&D, Procurement and Brand Finance to define targets for BOM costs, product margins and cost.
  • Conduct post-mortem financial analyses on projects to report against initial business cases and drive learnings for future projects.
  • Drive short-term reporting and long-term forecasting for inventory asset balances, related inventory metrics and cash flow impacts in coordination with Corporate Finance.
  • Partner with Cost Accounting, Operations and Sales to build and manage risk models for Excess & Obsolete and Remnant FG Inventories as well as shrink and scrap reserves.
  • Partner throughout the Operations organization to optimize our supply chain, from defining and monitoring target KPIs to supporting Ops leadership & cross-functional teams through IBP (Integrated Business Planning) cycles.
  • Execute the Ops Finance vision through continuous improvement of our planning tools, ERP/EPM integration, streamlining workflows and developing best-in-class reporting/analytics into a competitive advantage for the company.
  • Support ad-hoc strategic decision-making such as pricing, competitive analyses etc.
