We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll advance your skills to design, develop, produce, and advise on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports defense innovation, Army prize competitions, and critical technology transition initiatives through the xTech and G-TEAD programs. As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to promote emerging defense technologies, engage non-traditional innovators and small businesses, and showcase mission impact to Army leadership and industry partners. As a collaborator on all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll author launch and milestone articles, finalist and winner announcements, formatted website copy, social media campaigns, leadership talking points, event remarks, and program impact summaries. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with collaborative tools such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Canva, and Adobe. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with strategic communications, public relations, digital marketing, or content creation
  • 1+ years of experience drafting articles, press releases, web copy, leadership talking points, or social media content aligned to program milestones
  • Knowledge of professional writing, copyediting, and proofreading principles
  • Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent deadlines, track content review cycles across distinct programs, and integrate feedback from senior communications specialists
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including digital marketing managers, graphic designers, and program leadership
  • Ability to adhere to established style guides
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Department of War (DoW), U.S. Army, or government technology transition and prize competition programs
  • Experience conducting environmental scanning and competitive media analysis to identify promotional and marketing avenues
  • Knowledge of print production processes for event collateral, including soldier exercise materials, display banners, and competition signage
  • Ability to synthesize complex technological and military modernization concepts into clear, engaging language for varied public and industry audiences
  • Possession of excellent detail-oriented skills
  • Secret clearance
