About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard. Responsibilities Establish enterprise strategic communications governance: standards, brand alignment frameworks, messaging policies, and approval workflows. Advise senior leadership on narrative strategy, reputational risk, crisis communications posture, and stakeholder influence for mission and modernization priorities. Review and adjudicate high‑visibility communication products, executive briefings, public‑facing materials, and media engagements to ensure strategic coherence and policy compliance. Develop and oversee enterprise communication campaigns, engagement plans, and stakeholder outreach tied to transformation and operational objectives. Define metrics and analytics frameworks to measure messaging effectiveness, stakeholder reach, and campaign impact; deliver executive‑grade insights. Coordinate cross‑functional teams (policy, legal, program leadership, public affairs, KM) to align communications with operational constraints and regulatory requirements. Maintain communication playbooks, templates, escalation procedures, and readiness artifacts for crisis and routine engagement. Mentor communications staff, institutionalize best practices, and drive continuous improvement of governance and engagement methodologies. #ENOCS Qualifications Qualifications Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance. Required experience and skills: Strategic communications, public affairs, or enterprise messaging experience with at least 7 years in senior advisory or governance roles. Demonstrated ability to craft executive narratives, manage crisis communications, and advise senior leaders on reputational and policy risk. Experience developing enterprise campaigns, governance frameworks, and analytics to measure communications impact. Strong stakeholder engagement, editorial adjudication, and quality‑assurance skills for high‑visibility materials and public outputs. Excellent briefing, writing, and executive presentation capabilities. Desired: Prior DoD/ARNG strategic communications, public affairs, or KM governance experience. Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance.
