Requirements

  • College Degree or 2 to 10 years of equivalent experience
  • Strong Microsoft suite business Acumen
  • Experience with lean/continuous improvement tools and programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Independent judgment and demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Prior supply chain (purchasing, buying, planning, materials) experience preferred
  • ERP Experience required

Responsibilities

  • Analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, spearheads project and cross functional collaboration to successful outcomes.
  • Develops and deploys reports and analytics to guide supply chain planning and decision making.
  • Drive continuous improvement utilizing problem-solving skills and tools
  • Exception Identification (pro actively identify parts that needs to be expedited)
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Process non-conforming material reports (NCMR’s) in a timely manner
  • Initiate engineering inquiries and as appropriate submit formal ECN requests
  • Blanket purchase order (BPO) analysis, set-up, maintenance and distribution of new BPO's
  • Pro-actively conduct analysis to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce costs
  • Provide forecast data to key suppliers to support deliveries within required lead-times
  • Initiate, review and analyze supplier price quotations
  • Work with Finance to take advantage of early payment discounts.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to assigned preferred, qualified or approved suppliers and assure close-out of corrective action requests.
  • Resolve escalated issues between Gorbel and suppliers.
  • Possess relevant technical commodity skills to be seen as credible by peers and managers
  • Participate in cross functional make vs. buy decisions and provide recommendations
  • Inform, convince and persuade others to action on key commodity strategy initiatives/objectives
  • Support special projects related to product launches and other supply chain initiatives
  • Achieve excellent results in annual cost improvement, supplier quality/delivery, supplier lead times/minimum order quantities, supplier consolidation and contract coverage with minimal supervision
