Requirements

College Degree or 2 to 10 years of equivalent experience
Strong Microsoft suite business Acumen
Experience with lean/continuous improvement tools and programs
Excellent communication skills
Independent judgment and demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
Prior supply chain (purchasing, buying, planning, materials) experience preferred
ERP Experience required

Responsibilities

Analyze processes, identify improvement opportunities, spearheads project and cross functional collaboration to successful outcomes.
Develops and deploys reports and analytics to guide supply chain planning and decision making.
Drive continuous improvement utilizing problem-solving skills and tools
Exception Identification (pro actively identify parts that needs to be expedited)
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
Process non-conforming material reports (NCMR’s) in a timely manner
Initiate engineering inquiries and as appropriate submit formal ECN requests
Blanket purchase order (BPO) analysis, set-up, maintenance and distribution of new BPO's
Pro-actively conduct analysis to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce costs
Provide forecast data to key suppliers to support deliveries within required lead-times
Initiate, review and analyze supplier price quotations
Work with Finance to take advantage of early payment discounts.
Provide regular performance feedback to assigned preferred, qualified or approved suppliers and assure close-out of corrective action requests.
Resolve escalated issues between Gorbel and suppliers.
Possess relevant technical commodity skills to be seen as credible by peers and managers
Participate in cross functional make vs. buy decisions and provide recommendations
Inform, convince and persuade others to action on key commodity strategy initiatives/objectives
Support special projects related to product launches and other supply chain initiatives
Achieve excellent results in annual cost improvement, supplier quality/delivery, supplier lead times/minimum order quantities, supplier consolidation and contract coverage with minimal supervision
