About The Position

Join our Supply Chain Management team as a Strategic Buyer, where you will help ensure the reliable flow of materials and equipment that support our operations and the broader power industry. In this role, you will develop sourcing strategies, evaluate and manage suppliers, negotiate contracts, and coordinate procurement activities that contribute to cost, quality, and delivery performance. You will work closely with teams across planning, production, finance, and logistics to align procurement activities with operational priorities. Your work will help strengthen supply chain efficiency, support business performance, and enable timely execution of projects and operations. This position offers the opportunity to build expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation, and procurement process improvement while collaborating with experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in strategic procurement.
  • Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost-effective agreements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Sound data interpretation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that support cost, quality, and supply chain efficiency goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers in alignment with organizational requirements and standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms to secure favorable supplier agreements.
  • Review market trends, supplier performance, and industry data to support purchasing activities.
  • Collaborate with planning, production, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement with operational needs.
  • Manage equipment deliveries and coordinate procurement activities to support business operations.
  • Monitor supplier relationships and performance while supporting risk mitigation efforts.
  • Maintain procurement records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance processes and reduce costs.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
