About The Position

The Strategic Business Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing business data, identifying trends and opportunities, and developing strategies to drive growth and improve operational efficiency. This role serves as a key liaison between business units and senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • University Degree in a Commerce, or related discipline.
  • One (1) to three (3) years’ experience within an operations environment.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills and the ability to make important, complex decisions while under time constraints.
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skill and proven leadership qualities to train, direct and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Key competencies include: strong customer orientation, conflict resolution, decisiveness, judgment, influence, business acumen and visioning.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft applications such as MS Office Suite 360, including but not limited to, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new technology.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to BWXT Medical’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the nuclear industry, preferably medical isotopes is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of GMP regulated products is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex business data from various sources, including financial reports, market research, customer data, and industry trends.
  • Leverage data mining, statistical modeling, and data visualization techniques to uncover insights and patterns that inform strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reports to communicate trends, findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth industry and competitive analysis to identify market trends, emerging technologies, and potential growth opportunities.
  • Develop and evaluate strategic business plans, proposals, and initiatives aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Assess the feasibility, risks, and potential impact of proposed strategies, and provide recommendations for implementation.
  • Ensure management is informed on relevant legislation, funding, and industry task force initiatives; and recommend actions as necessary.
  • Represent company at appropriate governmental and industry forums, with a focus on developing relationships with key stakeholders. Advocate for policies and opportunities aligned with the organization’s strategy and goals.
  • Analyze business processes, workflows, and operations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process optimization strategies, leveraging best practices, lean methodologies, and technology solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and processes, making adjustments as needed.
  • Coordinate and manage cross-functional strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project plans, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with business unit leaders, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, align expectations, and communicate project status and results.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to engage stakeholders, gather feedback, and promote buy-in for strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to upskill employees on data analysis tools, strategic planning methodologies, and process improvement techniques.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
  • Review Customer Licenses.
