About The Position

This role involves collecting, organizing, interpreting, and summarizing numerical data from multiple sources to develop risk strategy. The position will coordinate loan and pay overtime strategies, as well as portfolio analytics. The individual will conduct risk analysis to generate recommendations, build and optimize risk strategies, and collaborate with partners to implement strategies, ensure operational controls, and monitor performance. Responsibilities include reporting analytical strategy recommendations to senior management, partnering with the execution team to implement, validate, and monitor strategy quality and performance, ensuring control and governance to manage operational risk, and creating documentation and audit controls surrounding strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Financial Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Strategic Analytics, Portfolio Officer, Credit Analyst, Marketing Analytics or related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a PhD in Financial Risk Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Strategic Analytics, Portfolio Officer, Credit Analyst, Marketing Analytics or related occupation.
  • Applying credit risk analysis, including credit scoring models and risk assessment techniques (3 years experience).
  • Pulling and analyzing credit and lending related data using tools such as SAS, SQL, or Python and extracting actionable insights on opportunities and performance (3 years experience).
  • Managing credit card portfolios in the financial services industry (3 years experience).
  • Analyzing regulatory requirements and compliance related to credit risk (3 years experience).
  • Designing and implementing risk management strategies (3 years experience).
  • Gathering and analyzing historical credit performance data including repayment behavior, delinquency trends, utilization levels, credit scores, repayment consistency and portfolio charge off rates, to identify patterns that predict risk using tools such as SAS, SQL, or Tableau (3 years experience).
  • Collecting macroeconomic indicators that affect credit risk such as unemployment rates, GDP growth, or inflation (3 years experience).
  • Performing statistical analysis of portfolio variables such as balance distributions, utilization levels and credit scores to identify central tendencies, variability and outliers that may indicate emerging risk (3 years experience).
  • Using frequency distributions and time series plots to identify borrower segments exhibiting disproportionate risk (3 years experience).
  • Analyzing the correlation between borrower credit scores and default rates to identify relationships (3 years experience).
  • Designing visual dashboards and charts such as histograms, scatter plots, or heat maps to highlight risk insights, identify risky customer segments, and reveal correlations between key credit card attributes such as payment rates, utilization levels, or cash buffers, as well as emerging stress within the portfolio (3 years experience).
  • Preparing reports summarizing analysis, conclusions, and recommendations for risk management (3 years experience).
  • Analyzing credit card portfolios to assess risk levels across different segments (3 years experience).
  • Using structured analytics to analyze data on cardholder behavior, transaction patterns, payment history, and credit scores (3 years experience).
  • Developing profiles for each segment of a credit card portfolio, highlighting characteristics and behaviors associated with increased risk (3 years experience).
  • Designing targeted interventions for high-risk segments, such as personalized communication strategies, credit limit adjustments, or offering financial counseling services (3 years experience).
  • Building dynamic dashboards with automated data refreshes enabling proactive and real time monitoring of credit risk metrics to support early detection of credit deteriorations (3 years experience).
