About The Position

This highly motivated, strategic, and customer-focused individual, as part of the Project Development team, will be responsible for driving business growth through the development of key customer relationships, identification of new market opportunities, and expansion of strategic partnerships across North America. Utilizing a consultative sales approach, this role works closely with customers, engineering firms, contractors, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to develop project opportunities, deliver value-based solutions, and achieve revenue and profitability objectives. This position has no direct reports. This position reports to Manager, Project Development. This is a remote position located within the Midwest Region and supports the company's North America operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, technical sales, project development, account management, or related customer-facing roles involving industrial products, HVAC systems, engineered solutions, or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities while achieving revenue growth objectives.
  • Experience utilizing CRM platforms to manage customer relationships, sales opportunities, pipeline development, forecasting, and business performance reporting.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC and Domestic Water systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and discuss engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong consultative selling, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build credibility with customers, business partners, and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to provide technical insight into Watts products, solutions, and applications with a strong understanding of industry concepts and practices.
  • Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout an assigned territory and/or account base.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new customers and business opportunities through networking, referrals, industry engagement, strategic partnerships, and targeted market development activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineering firms, contractors, manufacturers, representatives, and other key industry stakeholders to generate project opportunities and long-term business growth.
  • Conduct customer visits, facility assessments, presentations, and discovery meetings to identify customer challenges and recommend value-based solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive proposals, presentations, budgets, and business cases designed to address customer needs and support project objectives.
  • Visit customer sites to evaluate mechanical systems and identify opportunities for engineered solutions, developing preliminary engineering concepts as needed.
  • Negotiate business terms and facilitate agreements that support project success, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth objectives.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies and plans by fostering productive business relationships that build customer trust and confidence in Watts solutions and services.
  • Understand target markets, including industry trends, customer business drivers, project opportunities, key decision-makers, and effective market penetration strategies.
  • Identify, evaluate, and execute strategic business opportunities and partnerships, with focused efforts throughout North America.
  • Establish and execute strategies for strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and market expansion, including relationships with equipment suppliers, manufacturers, engineering firms, and mechanical contractors.
  • Advise the organization and support the development and execution of service programs, business initiatives, and growth strategies.
  • Monitor and maintain a thorough understanding of market conditions, competitive activity, customer needs, and industry trends through continuous interaction with customers, partners, and the Manufacturing Representative network.
  • Resolve conflicts and facilitate collaboration among internal and external stakeholders to ensure expedient resolution of channel conflicts and other business challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Watts brands and business units to achieve short- and long-term revenue, profitability, and strategic growth objectives.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, customer, project, and pipeline information within CRM and business management systems to support forecasting, business planning, and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and provide regular forecasting, business development updates, and market intelligence to leadership.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and collaboration throughout the organization.
  • Assume responsibility for other projects and duties as assigned by the Manager, Project Development or Company leadership.
  • Travel as required to customer sites, partner locations, industry events, and company facilities throughout North America (40-60%).
