About The Position

CyberOne is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Account Manager (SAM) to join our growing team in the Chicago, IL area. This individual will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, driving new business opportunities, and providing consultative sales expertise across a wide range of cybersecurity technologies and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solution-based sales, particularly within cybersecurity or IT services, and a demonstrated ability to manage enterprise accounts, drive renewals, and close new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant B2B sales experience, preferably in technology or cybersecurity.
  • 5+ years’ experience with a Value-Added Reseller (VAR), cybersecurity manufacturer, or IT services provider.
  • Demonstrated success managing a territory and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity sales cycles, particularly complex or enterprise-level deals.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM platforms (Salesforce.com preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite, including Teams, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including proposal writing and solution positioning.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • High degree of organization, time management, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and travel locally as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Established network of clients and vendors within the Chicago, IL area.
  • Experience selling to public sector clients including State, Local, and Education (SLED: K–12/ISDs and Higher Ed).
  • Relevant sales certifications from cybersecurity vendors (e.g., Palo Alto, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, etc.).
  • Understanding of MDR (Managed Detection and Response), Risk & Compliance services, and Professional Services.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted cybersecurity advisor for clients and prospects, providing strategic guidance across key areas such as: Endpoint Security, Network Security, Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, SIEM, Incident Response, Security Assessments & Testing, Threat Intelligence.
  • Drive new business sales and manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
  • Consistently meet or exceed sales quotas and pipeline metrics while maintaining accurate Salesforce CRM data.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demos, both virtually and in person.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to develop solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop long-term client relationships to ensure renewals, upsells, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of CyberOne’s solutions portfolio and vendor ecosystem.
  • Actively contribute to team goals, sales strategy discussions, and market expansion initiatives.
