About The Position

The Stove Person is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment in all food and beverage areas of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. The Stove Person will also clean and sanitize food preparation and dish areas. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
  • Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Requires the ability to stand and walk for duration of shift.
  • Requires extensive lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand motions.
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder and clean high to reach areas.
  • Must be able to bend and reach to a height of six (6) feet with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to push up to 250 lbs. on a pushcart.

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
  • Break down, clean, sanitize, and degrease line cooking equipment including, but not limited to stoves, grills, flattop ranges, ovens, fryers, and woks. Reassemble for use.
  • Clean ovens, combi ovens, warmers, kettles, and braziers.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen vents and hoods and deep cleaning according to the assigned cleaning schedule.
  • Empty and clean garbage cans.
  • Empty grease barrels and trays. Dispose of cooking oil into the oil bin daily.
  • Clean and sanitize floors, walls, and ceilings in food preparation and dish areas.
  • Clean storage racks in walk-ins and dry storage racks.
  • Responsible for organizing and storing tools and equipment at the end of shift.
  • Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when using or dispensing chemicals.
