About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the City's stormwater system. The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and requires a commitment to protecting the local environment. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team focused on ensuring the effective management of stormwater infrastructure.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Basic understanding of stormwater systems or related infrastructure.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in stormwater management, public works, or a related field.
Experience operating heavy equipment.
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to stormwater.
Certification in relevant areas (e.g., erosion control).

Responsibilities

Inspect and maintain stormwater infrastructure, including pipes, ditches, and retention ponds.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as mowing, debris removal, and minor repairs.
Operate and maintain City vehicles and equipment.
Respond to citizen inquiries and complaints regarding stormwater issues.
Assist with data collection and record-keeping for stormwater management activities.
Participate in public education and outreach programs related to stormwater quality.
Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and City policies.
