Stormwater Design Engineer
About The Position
As a stormwater engineer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, permitting, and managing stormwater infrastructure projects in compliance with Washington State regulations and local agency requirements. You will lead technical analyses and engineering design efforts related to stormwater management systems, drainage facilities, low impact development, water quality treatment, erosion and sediment control, and flood mitigation projects. You will provide technical expertise in hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater system design, watershed management, permitting, and construction support. You will collaborate with public agencies, developers, project managers, environmental specialists, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions that protect public safety and environmental resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum four years of transportation engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Proficiency in Microstation, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with project engineers on the detailed enclosed storm drainage analysis and design for urban and rural transportation projects.
- Conduct drainage analysis and design per the project's requirements and various transportation public agencies.
- Provide hydraulic analysis for cross-drainage structures and incorporate the results in the design of roadways and bridges.
- Design of stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, culvert analysis, bridge hydraulics, and floodplain compensation.
