About The Position

Ready to work on real-world Australian civil infrastructure and stormwater projects? We are partnering with a growing Australian civil engineering consultancy that delivers high-quality stormwater and civil design solutions across a range of infrastructure and development projects. As their offshore team continues to expand, they are looking for a detail-oriented and technically capable Stormwater / Civil Designer to support ongoing project delivery. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning concepts into practical engineering solutions, has strong drafting and stormwater design capability, and thrives in a collaborative project environment. You’ll work closely with experienced Australian engineers and project stakeholders while contributing to meaningful civil works projects involving drainage, roads, flood studies, earthworks, and infrastructure design. As a Stormwater / Civil Designer, you will be responsible for supporting the preparation of civil and stormwater design documentation, technical drawings, reports, calculations, and modelling outputs for various infrastructure projects. You will assist in transforming project requirements and engineering concepts into accurate and compliant technical deliverables while ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are consistently met. You will also support project coordination activities, communicate proactively with the engineering team, and contribute to maintaining efficient workflows and quality-focused delivery processes.

Requirements

  • Has a minimum of 2 years of experience in stormwater and/or civil design.
  • Has strong proficiency in AutoCAD and experience preparing technical civil design drawings.
  • Understands stormwater drainage design principles, civil drafting standards, and infrastructure documentation.
  • Can interpret engineering concepts, project scopes, and technical requirements accurately.
  • Has strong attention to detail and can consistently deliver accurate, high-quality technical outputs.
  • Can manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining quality and turnaround expectations.
  • Has strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Can work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with remote engineering teams.
  • Is proactive, solutions-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MUSIC or similar stormwater modelling software
  • Experience with HEC-RAS or similar flood modelling software
  • Experience with Civil Works or infrastructure projects
  • Experience with Australian civil engineering standards or local council requirements
  • Experience in Australian project environments
  • Candidates without direct Australian experience are still encouraged to apply if they have strong technical stormwater and civil design capability and are open to learning Australian standards and workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare civil drafting and technical design documentation for: Stormwater drainage systems, Earthworks, Sediment and erosion control, Roads and carparks, Pavement design, Sewer reticulation, Water reticulation, Detention basins and water quality systems
  • Develop stormwater reports, including: Quantity and quality calculations, Drainage assessments, Stormwater modelling, Flood investigation reports
  • Review project requirements, scope of work, and client specifications to ensure complete and accurate project delivery.
  • Convert engineering concepts and client requirements into technical drawings, layouts, and construction-ready documentation.
  • Prepare, review, and revise concept and detailed civil designs, calculations, and reports.
  • Coordinate with engineers and project stakeholders to ensure project requirements, timelines, and deliverables are clearly understood.
  • Ensure all work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with internal quality standards and client expectations.
  • Support quality assurance activities by reviewing drawings, calculations, reports, and technical outputs before submission.
  • Assist with project tracking, reporting, and workflow coordination to maintain delivery schedules and project efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying workflow efficiencies and recommending process improvements where appropriate.
  • Maintain compliance with company business management systems, environmental requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.
