About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform storekeeping duties involving the receipt, recording, storage, inventory control and issuance of materials and supplies for the city utilities program. This job works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

Requirements

Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one (1) year of college.
One month of clerical support, customer service or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Solicits quotations for materials at the lowest cost consistent with specifications.
Prepares requisitions for materials and supplies.
Coordinates meetings with customers/departments to determine key stock levels and acquisition planning.
Inspect the quality and quantity of received goods to accept or reject.
Operates computers in order to input inventory data and maintain inventory data.
Receives, completes, and/or submits records and documents including work orders, invoices, deliveries.
Processes store requisitions and work orders.
Utilizes various types of equipment and tools such as computers, copier, 2-way radio, fork-lift, material handling equipment.
Performs radio and telephone communications as needed.
Performs annual inventory.
Maintains security of stockroom.
Perform stocking shelves, maintain presentable zoning and uniformity, other tasks as required.
Performs related work as assigned.
