About The Position

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to A Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol. This position reports directly to the Central Supply Manager within the Division of Administrative Services’ Bureau of Office Services, and is responsible for issuing materials, equipment and supplies in a supply warehouse operation. This position is also responsible for staging, loading and shipping of supply inventory and other items.

Requirements

Knowledge of standard inventory control procedures.
Skilled in data entry.
Must be detail-oriented with the ability to verify accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Skilled in the operations of a hand truck, electric pallet jack, and forklift.
Skilled using calculator, office copier/equipment and computerized inventory tracking system
Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to organize supplies and materials in numeric or alphabetic order.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to use good judgment.
Ability to provide professional customer service to internal and external customers.
Continuous heavy lifting throughout the workday.
Ability to load, unload and lift boxes weighing over 55 pounds.
Ability to twist, turn, reach or bend while holding and/or carrying items or boxes.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing (no cancellations, suspensions, or revocations for a minimum of three years prior to employment and for the duration of employment; no more than three chargeable crashes or any violation of Chapter 316, Florida Statutes, during any consecutive three-year period prior to and throughout employment).

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of professional work experience performing warehouse/stockroom functions including the safe operation of electric pallet jacks, forklifts. panel trucks, etc. in the past 5 years.
