Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a maintenance storeroom, warehouse, inventory control, or materials management environment.
  • Experience with AS400 or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily storeroom operations, including receiving, verifying, storing, issuing, and maintaining inventory controls for maintenance parts, materials, and supplies.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for quantity, quality, and accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Issue parts and materials to maintenance personnel while accurately recording inventory transactions.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy within the ERP/Inventory Management System through timely and accurate transactions.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, and material issues while identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain organized storage locations, part numbering, labeling, and housekeeping standards throughout the storeroom.
  • Identify obsolete, excess, damaged, and slow-moving inventory and recommend appropriate disposition.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of maintenance parts to support production and maintenance requirements.
  • Work with vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and quotations for maintenance materials and spare parts.
  • Create requisitions and issue approved purchase orders within the AS400 ERP system.
  • Process receipts and maintain accurate purchasing documentation.
  • Work with the Plant Engineer and Maintenance leadership to establish and maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels based on equipment criticality, usage history, and lead times.
  • Explore alternate suppliers to improve part availability, quality, lead times, and overall cost savings.
  • Assist in identifying and stocking critical spare parts for equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and vendors to ensure timely availability of maintenance materials.
  • Assemble, stage, and maintain Preventive Maintenance (PM) kits to improve maintenance efficiency and reduce equipment downtime.
  • Assist maintenance personnel in locating replacement parts and identifying equivalent components when necessary.
  • Stage materials for planned maintenance activities, shutdowns, and capital projects.
  • Prepare reports related to inventory accuracy, inventory valuation, usage trends, stock levels, cycle count performance, and other key performance indicators.
  • Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate inventory documentation and records.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory optimization, storeroom organization, and cost reduction.
  • Recommend improvements to storeroom layout, inventory processes, and material flow.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storeroom environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA requirements.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment, when trained and authorized.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of maintenance materials and hazardous substances.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements (where applicable), and plant procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records.
  • Support plant initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the position and plant operations.
