About The Position

This position involves receiving and staging merchandise by department, marking it appropriately for placement within the facility, and delivering it to the correct department. The role requires stacking received merchandise on pallets or carts, completing requisition forms for inventory and supplies, and notifying the manager/supervisor of low stock levels in a timely manner. Responsibilities also include receiving deliveries, properly storing perishables, and rotating stock. The clerk will inspect deliveries and date times to verify freshness, cleanliness, consistency, and quality throughout case lots, and refuse acceptance of damaged, unacceptable, or incorrect items. Adherence to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas is crucial. The role also entails organizing, cleaning, and sanitizing all refrigerators and freezers, floors, food equipment, and drains, as well as removing empty pallets, cardboard, and trash to their proper storage areas. Additionally, the position requires reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager, completing safety training and certifications, and adhering to all company policies and procedures. This includes ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information, and protecting company assets. Communication with guests and co-workers should be clear, appropriate, and professional. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others and supporting team goals is expected, along with complying with quality assurance expectations and standards. The role requires reading and visually verifying information in various formats, including small print. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are needed for manipulating objects of varying size and weight. The position may involve moving through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by Supervisors.
